It has been identified that in New Zealand, unreinforced masonry (URM) buildings pose the greatest risk of structural collapse in an earthquake. Therefore a significant portion of this research project has been devoted to the assessment and retrofit or URM buildings. The different aspects of URM research are detailed below:
-
Studies on the seismic response of structural components in unreinforced masonry buildings
-
Desk-top seismic assessment of unreinforced masonry buildings
-
Finite element time-history analysis of unreinforced masonry buildings
-
FRP Retrofit Solutions
-
Case studies on seismic assessment and retrofit of unreinforced masonry buildings
