This study involves the development of a computer based design tool to facilitate the life cycle costing process. Preliminary discussions have been held with the UOA Department of Computer Science to explore the skill set required to achieve this task. Additionally, it will be necessary to expand the initial focus on unreinforced masonry buildings to eventually incorporate the full spectrum of concrete and steel buildings also.
