The Seismic Retrofit Solutions project commenced in 2004 as a partnership between the University of Auckland and the University of Canterbury, with the goal of developing a national platform of knowledge and expertise associated with seismic retrofit and rehabilitation of the nation’s multi-storey buildings.  Key focus areas were unreinforced masonry buildings, riveted steel framed buildings, non-ductile concrete buildings, building foundations and overcoming impediments to the implementation of seismic retrofits.

The project concluded in late 2010 with the dissemination of a suite of industry userguides for detailed seismic assessment and retrofit.  However, because of the 2010/2011 Canterbury earthquake swarm it was established that this project website should be revamped to provide ready access to the industry userguides and to further technical information as it emerges from Canterbury.  Updates to the userguides will be posted on the site as they become available.
